Ikke mange er klar over at det i Oslo, som en av få byer i verden, jevnlig arrangeres danseaftener med klassisk storbandmusikk fremført live av tidsriktig antrukne musikere. Undertegnede og frue hadde i går aften den store glede å lytte oss igjennom to herlige sett perler fra jazzens gull-alder fremført av det velrennomert og meget drevne ensemblet High Tune Swing Orchestra.
En opplagt Ola Welo ledet bandet igjennom klassikere som It Don't Mean a thing, American Patrol, I get a kick, og mange mange flere. Han og flere av ensemblets musikere ga til beste en serie gnistrende instrumentalsoloer og som sløyfen som knytter det hele sammen på toppen av pakken sto den fabelaktige Jazz-vokalisten av gryende internasjonalt format, Ingerd Wennermo fra Grefsen i Oslo og leverte den ene tolkningen vakrere enn den andre. Vår personlige favoritt, Over The Rainbow, toppet første sett og vi måtte registrere at det piplet frem en tåre i øyekroken når Fru Wennermo hentet frem sin indre Judy Garland og lot det stå til.
Vår anbefaling er å ta en tur innom Kulturpuben ved Youngstorget neste gang High Tune spille opp. Om det er for å danse eller bare for å lytte til unik storbandmusikk, vil du antagelig uansett forutgående musikkpreferanser, gi deg selv en oppløftende, minnerik opplevelse i hverdagen.
